
🚗 📸 How to Use the CarCutter App to Capture and Upload Vehicle Photos
🛠️ 1. Getting Started
You’ll receive an email with:
- A login token
- A CarCutter Cloud link (similar type of storage to Dropbox but internal tool) where all your vehicle images will be stored
➡️ Download and open the CarCutter app from the App Store or Google Play.
🔐 2. Logging In
- Use the QR code from your email (recommended) or enter the letter/number token manually
- After logging in, select the CarCutter Best guideline when prompted
🏠 3. App Home Screen Overview
- All your photographed vehicles appear on the main screen
- Use the search bar (magnifying glass) to find specific vehicles
- Access settings (gear icon) to adjust:
- Auto-save photos to your phone
- Storage optimization
- Use the user icon to:
- View/share your login token
- Tap refresh if backend settings were recently updated
📷 4. Capturing Photos
- Tap the plus (+) icon to start a new photo session
- Enter the VIN by:
- Scanning text, barcode, or QR code
- Or manually typing the 17-digit VIN
- Follow on-screen photo guidelines (exterior & interior)
- Optionally, tap + → Feature – No Background to add extra shots (e.g., heated seats, sunroof)
🟢 5. Taking Great Shots
- Align your shot using the on-screen guides
- When ready, the shutter turns green
- Tap to shoot or hold to override (only if space is tight and not recommended)
- Avoid overriding for your main “hero” image
- Accept or retake photos as needed
🗂️ 6. Reviewing and Managing Images
- Review all images under the vehicle’s profile page
- Double-check the VIN at the top to ensure images sync properly to your website
- Toggle to view original vs. backgrounded versions
🧰 7. Key Features in the Vehicle Profile
Tap the three dots (⋯) in the top-right to:
- Rename VIN
- Duplicate orders (for identical vehicles)
- Reprocess photos
- Share/export images
- Change showroom background guidelines
🧑💻 8. Quality Control (QC)
- Backgrounding is typically completed in minutes
- All images go through manual QC within 24 hours
- The system ensures consistency and accuracy, correcting common image flaws
