Ensure you are not too far away when shooting a vehicle
Capture the car from a closer distance to make sure the app is fully detecting the car and guarantee a high-quality result.
Recommendation:
- Ensure the car occupies at least 60% of the captured frame width.
- Since a car isn’t a perfect square, get closer at the front and back and keep more distance for side views to avoid cutting off the car. The shape of your walk around the car should be oval to secure great results.
Your walk should look like this:

Good image, perfect distance with the vehicle:
Don’t walk too fast
Moving forward too quickly can result in blurry frames, missed shots, or cutting off parts of the car.
Recommendations:
- Take your time. It should not take less than a minute to capture the spin.
- Follow closely our in-app AI guidance and be sure all bubbles turn green. It also ensures that the car is not cropped.

Capture in good lightning conditions
Bad lighting conditions can affect drastically the spin quality; make sure your car is not under or overexposed while shooting
Our recommendations:
- Don’t shoot cars in direct sunlight (the best conditions are on cloudy days).
- Don’t shoot cars in an underground parking.
- Clean your lens to avoid visible sun glare.

Recommendations about your capturing environment
- Avoid moving objects in the background (especially people and other driving cars).
Bad image, people are moving in the background:
- Avoid objects that are covering the car (lanterns signs, sidewalks, etc.).
Bad image, the car is covered by a pillar:
Bad image, the car is covered by the sidewalk:
- Avoid significant height differences. The ground should not have a steep slope or steps.
Bad image, the vehicle is parked in an elevated area. It creates height differences while walking around the car:
Good image, the vehicle is parked on level ground:
Maintain your phone at the same height
To ensure a smoother experience for your visitors online, do not move your device vertically too much.
Provide good internet connection after shooting
Make sure you have a stable internet connection during capture immediately after capturing to ensure fast processing.
Our recommendations
- Connect to a WiFi network as soon as you can.
- Please keep the CarCutter app running in the background to ensure all images are uploaded.
- Make sure the device is charged.
Free Up Your Phone for Best Performance
Capturing and uploading images for a 360 spin is a demanding task. Other apps running in the background can slow things down.
Here’s how to optimize performance:
- Turn off power-saving mode.
- Close background apps (e.g., music or streaming apps).
- Limit Bluetooth usage as much as possible.
