CarCutter's app allows you to import 360 images taken with a 360 device, such as a Ricoh Theta camera.
After the 360 orientation has been selected, you are prompted to upload an image from your gallery:
By Clicking Upload from gallery, you can access your phone gallery and select the interior 360 you previously shot using a Ricoh Theta device. The image gets uploaded to our system and will get processed as it is. Upon request, we can offer single color backgrounding (we are not able to display your virtual showroom on a 360 image).
Ricoh Theta side
We only support JPG output format. Hence, we warmly recommend you to use Ricoh Theta devices because they are, by default, converting all images into JPGs.
Here are the shooting settings we recommend on the Ricoh Theta device side. Most important is to make sure that:
- Shooting method is normal shooting
- File format is set to JPEG
Other settings can be adjusted depending on your shooting environments.
Also, to insure a proper shooting, we recommend you to use Ricoh tripod to position the device between the 2 front seats. Some vehicles also have a large enough central armrest so that you can place the camera on it.
Keep in mind to:
- Center the camera between the seats, aligned with the center console.
- Lens (white dot) faces the dashboard.
- Use a slim, stable mono-pod or tripod.
- Remove yourself and any clutter from the shot.
- Close windows and doors.
- Shoot in even, diffuse lighting.
